R DICTIONARY

Why it matters: Failing to claim it after the work is done leaves real money with the insurer.

Why it matters: It is the single most valuable endorsement on most property policies.

Reserve

The portion of a factored invoice held back until your customer pays, then released minus fees.

Why it matters: Advance rate plus reserve equals the invoice, so a high advance rate is not automatically a better deal.

Why it matters: Unannualised ROI systematically flatters slow investments.

A short statutory window in which a contract can be cancelled without penalty.
